London, May 31, 2018 – Bacta has strengthened its field based compliance team with the appointment of former police officer David Miller to the post of Regional Compliance Officer with responsibility for London and the Home Counties as well as Eastern and Southern regions. Southend-on-Sea based David, who reports to Simon Bradbury, Bacta’s Head of Social Responsibility and Compliance, spent three decades with Essex Police during which time he attained the rank of Inspector, a position he held for 15-years. During his time with Essex Police he undertook specialist projects and directed policing events and critical incidents at the highest level. He was also responsible for drafting the Essex Police Restorative Justice policy document and organised seminars and presentations to Criminal Justice Board, partnership agencies and local government officials.

Commenting on the addition to his team, Simon Bradbury stated: “We undertook an extensive recruitment process in order to identify the right calibre candidate for this important role within the association and I am delighted that David has accepted our invitation to join the Bacta team. David has worked at senior positions within Essex Police and has extensive experience working at both both tactical and strategic levels. Compliance and the development of a social responsibility culture are at the forefront of the Bacta agenda and I am confident that David will play a central role in its effective deployment. I am extremely happy to confirm him as part of the team.

Looking forward to the next chapter in his career, David Miller said: “I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity of working with Bacta, a trade association that has a tremendous track record in upholding the highest of professional standards. I’m very conscious of the learning curve ahead of me, but I’m coming into the new role with great enthusiasm and a determination to rise to the challenges that lie ahead.
