Betsson has become the official sponsor of the upcoming 26th IHF Women’s World Championship 2023, brokered by SPORTFIVE. Hosted by Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, the tournament will captivate audiences from November 29 to December 17, 2023.

The 26th IHF Women’s World Championship 2023 is a split event, with the group stage being held in all three countries, while the final will take place in Herning, Denmark. A total of 32 national teams will compete for the coveted gold medal.

“We are happy to welcome Betsson to the 26th IHF Women’s World Championship. Thanks to our TV and Marketing Rights Partner SPORTFIVE, we have partnered up with online gaming company Betsson. Together, we set a clear aim – to excite,” Dr. Hassan Moustafa, President of IHF, said.

“We are thrilled to introduce Betsson as a new valued partner for the Women’s Handball World Championship this November. With their wealth of experience in supporting women’s sports globally we are confident that this collaboration will further elevate the excitement and bring the tournament to new heights,” Robert Müller von Vultejus, Chief Growth Officer at SPORTFIVE, said.

This will be Sweden’s first time hosting the women’s handball World Cup. Denmark, which hosted the competition in 2015, now shares the championship with Sweden and Norway. This collaboration marks Betsson’s debut sponsorship in handball, further solidifying its position as a leading betting company in the Nordics with roots dating back to 1963. As part of the sponsorship, Betsson’s branding will be displayed on led screens throughout the arena, tickets will be raffled, and a wide range of odds will be offered for all matches.

Betsson has long track record in supporting women’s sports. Notably, Betsson became the exclusive Sportsbook Partner of CONMEBOL Copa América Femenina 2022 and is the main sponsor for the women’s football teams of Athletico Paranaense and Club Atletico Boca Juniors.

“This sponsorship aligns with our commitment to promoting and supporting women’s sports. We hope that through our support of the tournament and our global presence, we will help to increase the excitement globally,” Robin Olenius, PR Manager at Betsson Group, said.
