Manohar Parrikar, the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Goa said that they still have not located a suitable site to shift the floating casinos.

In a reply in the state assembly the chief minister said: “The government has decided to remove the casinos from Mandovi but till today no alternate feasible site has been finalised and the matter is under examination.” Moreover, Parrikar revealed that a new gaming commissioner will be appointed to regulate the casino industry after December 2018.

Back in May, six onshore and five offshore casinos paid the annual recurring fees to India’s government, leaving it US$29.9 million richer.
