Sportwetten.de, the German Bookmaker and the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) have sealed a complementary long-term partnership. However, the terms of the partnership are not yet revealed by the companies.
The agreement earmarks Sportwetten.de to serve as an official partner of the German national ice hockey team. In return, Sportwetten.de will benefit from a branding presence during Germany home games and will be able to use the DEB and national team logos in its marketing materials.
With regard to the partnership, DEB Head of Marketing Robert Schütt said: “The extremely positive discussions and the serious, creative structure of the entire team at Sportwetten.de immediately convinced us that we are in the best of hands.” We are pleased to have a strategic partner on the side of Sportwetten.de who will develop the sport for the fans with us in the next few years.”
The German men’s team won gold at this year’s edition of the Winter Olympic Games, which took place in PyeongChang, South Korea, last month.
Ingo Pauling, Head of Operations at Sportwetten.de, added: “The historical performance of the team in Pyeongchang has crowned the partnership. We were convinced before that our brand fits in perfectly with ice hockey and its loyal fans. Therefore, we are pleased that with the DEB we can take a first important step in the still young company history in order to inspire the fans for us.”
This deal comes after the DEB agreeing on a partnership with LV Bet.
