Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU), the premier French organiser of horse-racing, has appointed Bertrand Méheut as the new chairman of the board and Cyril Linette as the new chief executive officer.
Méheut and Linette have worked together at Canal Plus, a pay-television broadcaster in France.
In a statement, PMU said: “The goal set for this new direction is to accelerate the revival of activity and brand on the core business of the PMU through the conquest of new customers, products and service innovation, the consolidation of its physical network and the international development of betting on French races.”
The double appointment comes after PMU last week picked up a shared online poker liquidity licence in France.
Awarded by French regulator ARJEL, the licence will allow PMU to offer services in the shared liquidity market between France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.
