The police has issued warrant to the owners of two Batesville (Arkansas) businesses for running illegal gambling business.

A news release from the Batesville Police Department states two separate warrants were executed simultaneously on Tuesday.

Police state the warrants were the result of “numerous complaints of illegal gambling taking place inside the businesses.”

During the investigation, two undercover Batesville officers went into the businesses and played on electronic gaming devices that provided “cash money for their winnings.”

While executing the warrants, numerous gaming devices were seised. Several individuals were interviewed about the illegal gambling.

Hilario Huerta, owner of La Ilusion, and Mirtha Jasso, owner of La Korita, were each charged with keeping a gambling house, a Class D felony. Both were charged in Independence County Circuit Court.

BPD was assisted by the Independence County Sheriff’s Office and the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force.
