China’s lottery sales rose 9.4 percent year-on-year to 104.18 billion yuan ($16.5 billion) in the first quarter of this year, official data showed.

Celebrations of the Chinese New Year, induced lottery sales across the country to drop almost 10% more exactly 9.4%, said the Ministry of Finance. Last mont in March sales rose nationwide to €5.1 billion, this is 5.9% bigger year-on-year, boosting a 9.4 per cent quarterly increase in comparison to 2017.

The biggest growth was observed in welfare lottery sales, as well as sports lottery’s said the Ministry, al these sum up at a 18.3% growth. The most profitable province is in the central of China, mainly Hunan. The province of Hunan saw a €184 million growth year-on-year during the first quarter of 2017.

February total sales from official products fell down 8.9% to €3.3 billion, but quarterly figures released in March showed an increase year-on-year.
