Las Vegas – 04 May 2018 – Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS “Scientific Games” or the “Company”) has produced a behind the scenes video to give an insight into SG Digital’s busiest trading event of the year, the day of the Grand National.
Over the three days of the 2018 Aintree Festival, SG Digital’s market-leading OpenBet platform processed more than 34 million bets. The Grand National horse race is one of the biggest occasions in the sporting calendar and is the betting peak every year, peaking for a single operator above 20,000 bets per minute.
The video gives a glimpse into the preparation and delivery of a betting operation on the biggest day of the year and shows key members of the OpenBet team discussing the challenges faced both before and during the day.
Keith O’Loughlin, SVP Sportsbook and Platforms at SG Digital said: “The video was a fun opportunity for us to explain what goes on at OpenBet during such a key part of the year for the industry. It shows how much work goes in to making betting on major events as simple and immediate as possible.
“To have record success for our platform was fantastic, and, as can be seen in the video, that success is due to the work the team puts in over the course of the year in close collaboration with our customers.”
