PokerStars India all set to go live this mid-April

PokerStars, an online poker cardroom owned by The Stars Group is all set to go live in India from the middle of next month as the poker site enters a potential market of over a billion people.

In association, the Rational Intellectual Holdings Ltd and its India licensee, Sachiko Gaming Private Ltd, announced that the PokerStars India website will commence operations from  April 17.

It was announced earlier this month that would launch as a replacement for Khelplay, a website owned by Sachiko Gaming division Sugal & Damani. Khelplay ceased its operations on March 15.

Rafi Ashkenazi, the Chief Executive of The Stars Group, has previously spoken about India’s potential as a market, initially stating that the service would go live in 2017.
